I am a bilingual educator with 15 years of experience serving as a classroom teacher and administrator in schools locally and abroad. I have promoted educational excellence throughout my career, and I am running for the Board of Education to partner with students, families, and fellow educators to create equitable experiences and outstanding outcomes for all students in Rowan-Salisbury Schools.
I am an active member of the Isenberg PTA and a Tier 2 volunteer with Communities In Schools Rowan County. I also served as a member of City of Salisbury’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, Forward 2040.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, my Master’s Degree in Education from Framingham State University, and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Carolina University. I am also a licensed real estate broker and currently serve as Program Manager for the real estate and construction trade programs at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
My extended family has lived in Rowan County for generations. Growing up, I spent most of my vacations with my grandparents and cousins in Salisbury. My husband and I moved to Salisbury in 2015. We are proud parents of 1st and 5th graders at Isenberg Elementary.
I believe that students learn best when there are high standards for achievement and the support
systems to reach those expectations.
I believe educators teach best when they are encouraged to innovate within their classrooms in ways that empower students to be partners in their learning journey.
I believe educational institutions serve best when they promote a culture that values excellence and inclusion.
I believe that communities contribute best when their members are welcomed as valuable assets in support student of success.
I believe society functions best when everyone has equitable access to excellent educational experiences.
